After 20 hours missing, the boy was found near a tree, having walked a kilometre and a half from his parent’s holiday home in Camós (Girona, Cataluña).
Over a hundred volunteers and police, supported by dogs and two helicopters, had participated in a search for the lad, which had started in the afternoon of the previous day and lasted all night and into the next morning, Friday the 1st of January.
However, it was a walker unconnected with the search who stumbled across the toddler, who showed signs of being in good health and after a quick medical check-up was taken to where his parents were anxiously waiting.
Lastly, there were so many volunteers coming forward that the police had to ask them to hold back and remain in reserve should the search operation extend into several days.
At the time of his disappearance, Jordi had been playing with other children and had simply wandered off whilst his parents were distracted unloading their things from the car for their stay.
