The Almuñécar Town Hall has announced that from next year the town will have a private, medical centre belonging to Clínicas Rincón.

This Málaga-based company will invest 2.5m euros in the centre’s budget and the new facilities are should create around 50 local jobs.

Company Chairman, Manuel Rincón, met with the Mayor and relevant municipal officials where the details of the clinic’s location on Playa San Cristóbal were discussed. The clinic will be located within Urbanización Mariotte and will occupy 744 sq/m of plot.

The clinic will have outpatient doctors’ surgeries, an analysis laboratory, scanner and an operations room for surgery up to hernias and gall-bladder interventions that require brief hospitalization.

The company already has a similar clinic in Nerja with 15 beds and an operating room, as well as in Torre del Mar and Rincón de la Victoria.

The Mayor considers the project to be “interesting” for Almuñécar’s population, both fixed and visiting, and promised to speed up administrative measures
