The Peace Boat

MOT Peace Boat OnLThe Puerto de Motril was visited by the Peace Boat yesterday. The ship, which belongs to a Japanese NGO, has 1,422 passengers on board.

Amongst the passengers there are eight survivors from the atomic-bomb attack on Hiroshima.

The Japanese NGO’s aim is to promote peace, as the ship’s name suggests and has an international reach.

Furthermore, Motril Port is the only Spanish Port that she will visit – put that in your pipe and smoke it, Málaga and Almería!

The passenger ship docked around 11.00h having sailed from the Italian port of Catania and at midnight of the same day sailed for Lisbon. In the meantime, 30 buses were used to take the passengers all over the area, including the Alhambra, Nerja and Frigiliana.
