Would you like to see a collection of Rafael Alberti’s liricografia? Yes, I know; what is a blessed liricografia? A liricografia is a poem mixed in with an image, basically.

Rafael produced a number of such works based on Federico García Lorca’s poems, a number of which are on show until the 13th of November at the Casa de la Cultura in Almuñécar.

The 15 ‘graphic poems’ can be viewed between 10.00h and 13.30h until then, together with a handwritten letter exchanged between Alberti and Lorca.

In 1975 Rafael Alberti produced a portfolio entitled Nunca fui a Granada, for the Fundación Rodríguez Acosta in Granada. This work, which takes the title of a poem of that name, is dedicated to García Lorca.

Rafael Alberti described these works as liricografías, so don’t bother googling (as I did) the word.
