Carchuna-Calahonda 70’s Fair

Now’s your chance to dig out your old hippie clothes… not that they’d fit anymore – because Carchuna’s going 1970’s!

The First Councillor for Carchuna-Calahonda, Concepción Abarca, announced that from today until Sunday, locals and visitors can enjoy their yearly theme market, which this year is inspired by the Hippie Culture of the 70’s.

There will be around 50 stalls doing everything from beekeeping to purchasing something suitably “ethnic.” There’s also a stall/workshop showing those interested how to do patchwork.

Each night the fair starts at 19.00h and doesn’t wind up until 01.00h.

You’ll have to dodge the mono-cyclists, jugglers and stilt walkers as you make your way amongst the stalls.

The kiddies will have a puppet show and a story teller between 20.30h and 21.30h – yes, this is Spain and it’s summer so it’s normal for kids to be out at that hour. They’ve also got a small carousel and donkey rides.

Music? From the 70’s, of course, so prepare yourself for plenty of Abba and Barry white!

Sounds fun!
