Spanish Air Force Photo Exhibition

MOT air force exhibition OnLAround 3,000 photos have been ceded by Motrileños to make up a photo exhibition on the Motril Air Base.

This is the second part of a project which was launched last year entitled, Aula de Pensamiento Francisco Javier de Burgos, as recognition of how much influence that Motril Spanish Air Force squadron has had on the town.

Visitors can view the photo exhibition in the Casa Condesa de Torre Isabel up until the the 8th of March.

The Mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro, Station Commander, Luis Martínez Diego and the Chairman of the Aula de Pensamiento Francisco Javier de Burgos, Gerardo Martín, gave a joint press conference to announce the inauguration of the exhibition on the 7th of February at 20.30h and the said venue.

The collection of photos range from the first years of the station, when the radar base was built on the Cerro del Conjuro, up to the modernization of the radar system of nowadays.

Many Motrileños did their obligatory military service there and have lent their photos of their time there to the exhibition.

The photo exhibition comprises of 50 printed photos and 3,000 others that will be viewed with a projector. The exhibition will also include uniforms, radio equipment etc.
