I am writing to you on behalf of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) in hope that you can help us raise funds for blind and partially sighted people, by promoting our postage stamp appeal, by advertising the following details in any way that you can. I know that this maybe a strange request coming from outside your country, but we are desperate! We are aiming to raise £20,000 this financial year, but we still have a long way to go!
 
RNIB are UK’s leading charity offering information, support and advice to over two million people with sight problems. Our pioneering work helps anyone with a sight problem – not just with Braille, talking Books and computer training, but with imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges.
 
Money raised by collecting new and used postage stamps helps to also support RNIB Sunshine House School, Northwood. This is a non-maintained special school for children who are blind or partially sighted with multiple disabilities. RNIB Sunshine House School is firmly committed to our belief that all children have the right to learn. They provide a service of high quality
specialist education and care through daily and residential provision, enabling our children to achieve their potential.
 
This is a permanent appeal and so postage stamps can be sent to me at any time of the year. We raise more money for postage stamps from overseas so you can see why we need your help so desperately. If readers could ask their friends and family throughout the world I would be so grateful. 
 
I appreciate that you may receive lots of requests from charities, but sight is something we often take for granted. Any help or support your organisation can offer will make a difference to our work supporting blind and partially sighted people.
