A man, who allegedly stabbed a neighbour, went around to his local bar afterwards and said, “Pour me a drink. It’s going to be the last one that I have, because they’re coming for me.”
The incident occurred in Valle de Abdalajís, (Málaga), involving a local whom everybody knows as José El Chaqueta (The Jacket). He allegedly stabbed Juan Gutiérez López four times as he sat at his doorstep in Calle Viento.
The waitress from the Cafeteria Marber explained, “We heard the shouting so we ran out of the bar and saw Juan running away with José El Chaqueta chasing after him with a knife, We tried to get between them.” Juan finally managed to get into his car for refuge and drive off to the medical centre.
The waitress went on to say how José (El Chaqueta) had been very angry that day. He had gone around to his victim’s house where the wife and youngest daughter were. Both ran out of the house to see what was going on and José turned on the daughter, twisting her arm behind her back with the intention of banging her face against the wall, but she managed to break free.
Things quietened down and the waitress and clients went back to the cafetería with El Chaqueta not far behind. He ended up there too, but not before throwing the knife over the playground wall of a local junior school
The waitress in the bar asked El Chaqueta if he realised what he had done; that he had ruined his own life by this act, and he responded, “Don’t cry, Lass. Don’t worry about me. Just pour me a glass of J&B whiskey.”
Juan arrived at the emergency department of the nearest medical centre and said to the doctors who were examining his wounds, “He’s killed me,” and he was right because he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the attack, later on, after having been rushed to the local-area hospital in Antequera in an ambulance.
Meanwhile, back in the town, the Guardia Civil went into the cafeteria and arrested José, who didn’t manage to finish his drink after all.
