There has been a mega dust-up (heated row) over at the Asociación de Hoteleros de la Costa Tropical, when it was considered that the Secretary, Rafael Lamelas, who is also the manager of Hotel Helios, spoke out of turn. Sr Lamelas, together with three other hotel managers called a press conference to denounce a ‘lack of tourism promotion for the Costa Tropical on the part of the relevant institutions and urged a push to promote the area as a winter destination, as well as a summer one.
Now the Chairman, or ‘Presidente’ wasn’t present at the time and God knows that the Spanish take this ‘Presidente’ thing very seriously – the atrocious thought that a mere mortal could take a decision without the benevolent consent of the Presidente is… just not cricket.
Consequently, the miffed Chairman, José Andrés Fernández, wants Mr Lamelas testicles served up on a plate.
He announced he had not been informed of a press call nor of the content of the same. Consequently, the Chairman called for a General Meeting to discuss the cessation in his post of the Secretary.
