The health authorities are investigating the death of a woman who had come to visit her daughter at the Hospital Clinico San Cecilio, in the city of Granada. According to the family, nobody came to her aid when the family tried to get help from the hospital staff.
The investigation is being made because, according to the Provincial Delegate for Public Health, the hospital records show no record of the family lodging a complaint before the hospital authorities.
Carmen L. resident of Dúrcal, died on the 28th of July in the said hospital. She was taken ill at the bedside of her daughter, who immediately attempted to summon help. According to the family and witnesses, it took two hours for the ward nurse to arrive, by which time the mother had already entered into a comma. She died hours later in the Intensive Care Unit.
