The IU (left wing) party are not impressed with the new look and layout of Motril’s main street; i.e., Avenida de Salobreña.

They claim that everyday the deficiencies of the project become more apparent: there are no loading and unloading bays for commercial transport to deliver to the shops along the avenue. There is no parking, either – it has all been eliminated, and above all it is dangerous because there is no physical barrier between the bus lane and the pedestrian sidewalk.

“What we find amazing is that there is nothing to distinguish the bus lane from the sidewalk; not even a difference in colour,” said their spokeswoman, Daniela Paqué.
