Could Lanjarón be the next Hollywood? Well, the Mayor of Lanjarón, Mariano Ruiz and the Director of Andalucía Film Commission, Piluca Querol, have signed a deal for the creation of the Lanjarón Film Office.
The idea behind this project is to promote the town further through attracting film companies. According to the Mayor, the inclusion of Lanjarón to the Red de Ciudades de Cine de Andalucía Film Commission will make the town better known, though location shooting will benefit local business from hostelry and other services.
The fact is that Lanjarón, besides lying within a national park, has much to offer, famous as it is for its thermal and drinking water, as well as local gastronomy.
A total of 80 other towns within Andalucía belong to the A.F.C. (Andalucía Film Commission), which was formed in 1998.
