In yet another twist to the long and very drawn out saga of the Marina del Este; representatives of the Junta de Andalucía arrived at the port today (31st July), accompanied by Regional Police officers.
They then proceeded, along with the Port Administrator, to inform several business owners, who are business tenants in the port, that the Junta had taken over possession of their buildings, and they would from that moment answer to the Junta in all matters to do with their premises. Each was then handed a piece of paper with words to that effect.
This does beg the question, under what law is the Junta actually acting in taking this action, and are the residents of these premises still just pawns in nothing more that an overblown family feud?
The obvious concern was, would the Junta be making any sweeping changes, or even evicting anyone from their premises, but the representatives from neither the Junta nor the Port Administrator would not be drawn on this point.
