Vintage Cars of Granada

Wowzers! Many residents were left with crinks in their necks at the end of April, after craning to get a good look at the convoy of shiny automobiles cruising through town.
In celebration of ‘25 years of routes,’ the Veteran Automobile Club of Granada was showing off in good-old-fashioned style by circling the province in their prized, collectors’ cars.
So, who had the shiniest of them all you ask? Well, spotted amongst the bunch was a Ford T GR-262 (I hope that means something to some of you), a Citroen B10 called Manolito and driven by Carlos dressed in full 1920’s gear, a Hup Mobile, and, the oldest of the pack, an Overland from 1915.
Vice President, Juan Jiménez, also proudly pointed out his Citroen ‘11 legere,’ baby of the litter from 1952, but an exact replica of the earlier model and enough to win him a sufficient amount of gushing from fellow collectors.
I, for one, was perched precariously on the back of Ed’s bike, when we spotted the shiny clan go by and immediately changed direction to ‘follow that car!’ And we certainly weren’t the only ones enjoying the show. Roll on next year!
