The lads at Iguana Playa (Taramay, Almuñécar) tell us that they will be opening everyday, instead of closing Mondays, from the beginning of June. They were both suitably recovered from the last time I saw them, which was at a live-music night – and that’s some heavy-duty recovering, believe me.
Whilst there, I marvelled, as always, at the spectacular location. We perhaps seldom look up from contemplating our personal problems nowadays, especially economic ones, but when we do, it is normally in such a setting as the restaurant terrace of Iguana Playa, where we realise just why it is that we live here – spoilt by our surroundings and pampered by the climate.
There was such a contrast of dazzling colours: the blue of the sky, the darker blue of the sea, the vibrant ‘spring’ green of the vegetation, and the bright colours of the tablecloths etc on the terrace.
In fact, even if you are a colour-blind git like me, you can’t fail to be impressed by the polychrome bombardment. But don’t take my word for it; pop around and enjoy some good food and the beautiful setting.
