Not all storm damage results in trees blown over and beach fixtures broken, because in the case of Lobres, the continual rain has opened up a small sinkhole.

The hole in the road surface is on the second roundabout as you come into the village, as can be seen in the accompanying photo; i.e.; . affecting between the entrance roundabout and the Calle Real junction with Calle Bonifacio Caro and Paseo San Agustín.

The Carretera de la Acequia Antigua is an alternative entrance into the village.

In the meantime, the Town Council’s Department for Urban Planning, says that they are “evaluating the situation.”

Whilst the closure remains in place, traffic on Calle Real will be limited exclusively to residents and garage owners. Salobreña Town Council will provide updates through its online and facebook.
