The new season of films in English in Almuñécar will begin with the first one being shown of Tuesday the 3rd at 19.00h at the Casa de la Cultura (main auditorium).

The chosen film, The Promise, is a romantic drama set in 1920’s in Constantinople against the backdrop of the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Synopsis: The Promise follows a love triangle between Michael, a brilliant medical student, the beautiful and sophisticated Ana, and Chris – a renowned American journalist based in Paris.

Michael in order to help pay his expenses for medical school,  promises himself to the daughter of an affluent neighbor, receiving 400 gold coins as a dowry. With the money he travels to Constantinople. There he falls in love with Ana just as international tensions begin to rise with the outbreak of World War I…
