Around 50 business people turned up for the I Encuentro de Negocios de la Costa which was held on the 2nd of this month at the Almuñécar Casa de la Cultura.
The event had been organised by the Asociación de Jóvenes Empresarios (AJE) from Granada and EMAS with the collaboration of the Town Hall
The Gazette was present and had the chance to speak with Ivonne Cabrera from EMAS and the Vice-Chairman of AJE, Marcelo Vázquez Ariza.
The core of the conference was a sort of musical chairs affair with two rows of chairs facing each other, each comprising of around 25 chairs; i.e. speed networking. Each couple had about five minutes to explain their business before shifting one seat down along the line to the next momentary partner.
It was fun but hard work with the remorseless time limit but it gave everybody the chance to meet everybody.
This was followed by a more relaxed mingling over a cup of coffee and then onto workshops: one on Marketing Tools for tourist-orientated businesses and the other for female job seekers on how to best tackle an interview.
An excellent idea with participants coming from all over the province, which was slightly mired by the little interest shown by Almuñécar businesses, judging by the turn out.
Enhorabuena Ivonne and Marcelo, as well as all those that attended.
