The Nerja Branch greatly appreciate the generous support shown by the management and clients of the bars and restaurants in Nerja.

On 27th March, Buddies’ Bar ran a charity horse-racing evening with all proceeds being donated to the RBL. The event was well supported and a total of €150 was raised on the evening.

Then in April the Chapel Bar held a tombola and Fun Day. This was also a great success, thoroughly enjoyed by those who went along and the event raised €180 for the RBL 2012 Poppy Appeal. Very many thanks to both Buddies and the Chapel bars.

The postponed Nerja Residents’ Day took place on Sunday 6th May and, thanks mainly to the amazing amount of time and effort put in by our Poppy Appeal Organiser, Dorothy Allen, we raised €404.63 on our tombola stand. This is a great result and a big thank you to everyone who helped out on the day and supported the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Our next major event is a Garden Party to celebrate HM the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee to be held at the Nerja Club Hotel on Saturday 2nd June at 3.30pm Tickets will be on sale at the Nerja Club Hotel during the St Isidro procession in Nerja and at the Branch lunch meeting at the Al Andalus Hotel on Thursday 17th May. This is a ticket only event but guests and visitors are most welcome.
