A man from Vélez de Benaudalla was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison for attacking his girlfriend.

The man came home drunk and she asked him where he had been, so he grabbed her by the neck and struck her. The Judge took as an attenuating circumstance his inebriated state (God knows why; nobody forced him to get drunk).

The incident occurred on the 17th of April, when the aggressor turned up at his girlfriend’s house to collect her. Apparently, he went berserk, grabbing her by the neck and slapping her around, before letting her fall to the ground where he stepped on her neck…
