Unfair Dismissal

A magistrate in Motril has found that the firing of twelve employees from Hotel Almuñécar Playa were unjustified; i.e., unfair dismissal.

The hotel failed to produce ‘credible economical reasons’ for the dismissal, as the hotel claimed that things were going to badly to keep them on. On the contrary, the hotel appeared to have made a profit during the time leading up to when the workers were laid off.

Accordingly, the Hotel has been order to either reinstate the twelve workers or pay them compensation and their salaries backdated to the day of their dismissal.
