
Sunday across Andalucía saw plenty of rain and snow on high ground thanks to the passing of the Storm Nelson, which also went under the name of Nadja.
During the course of last month no fewer than 43 people lost their lives through drowning around the country, which is 47% down on last year, however.
A total of seven people drowned in separate incidents this weekend past in Madrid (2), Mallorca (2), Córdoba, Gran Canaria and Barcelona.
Up to the 1st of August a total of 264 people had drowned in Spain; that’s 20% up on 2015, according to the Federación Española de Salvamento y Socorrismo.
