The Guardia Civil arrested two suspected thieves who brutally assaulted an 80-year-old woman during a robbery at her home in Mijas.
The victim’s son found her several hours later, lying on the floor with her face covered in blood. She subsequently required surgery.

This took place on the 19th of March after the suspects jumped the wall around the elderly woman’s house. Once inside, they allegedly beat her to force her to tell them where she kept her valuables.
According to her son, they even attempted to suffocate her, “They were going to kill her for the few euros she had there.”
Following a police investigation, officers arrested a 49-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the robbery, who is being held in police custody. Shortly afterwards the police managed to identify the other alleged perpetrator, a 42-year-old man, who had already done time for other crimes.
The woman was asleep when she was surprised by the robbers, who left her in such a state that had to be hospitalised for several days due to head, facial, and cervical trauma.
