Almuñécar Town Hall has its maintenance personnel out pruning palm trees around the centre of Almuñécar.
Whilst waiting for the summer crowds to diminish, they tackled the ones in school grounds within the municipality in preparation for the return to school.
Councillor Carlos Ferrón explained that work in the town centre had begun on Calle Guadix. Drivers were warned beforehand not to park there so that the cherry pickers and other maintenance vehicles could get at the palm trees, especially the ones on the avenue closest to the beach, opposite Hotel Playa Almuñécar and Mercadona across the river.
He said that this task would take several months to complete as the municipality has some 10,000 palm trees of different varieties.

Excessive use of punctuation marks? What would you do without the Gazette! 😉 Keep them coming, Melanie; appreciate the help. By the way, are you following us from Galicia?
Yes. I live in Galicia. I spend a couple or three months on the Costa Tropical during the winter.
Wise choice; I would definitely spend the summer in Galicia, Asturias or Cantabria.
