Orange Zones Activated

Starting today and lasting until the 31st of August, when parking on the seafront paseos in Almuñécar and La Herradura, you will have to bear in mind the Orange, dotted lines.

According to the Councillor for Traffic, Luis Aragón, the system will be the same as previous years, meaning from 11.00h to 15.00h and then from 19.00h to 22.00h. The maximum stay is three hours per vehicle per day.

To stop drivers giving the remaining time on their ticket that they are not going to use to other drivers… you will have to include your number plate. Christian charity is frowned upon, apparently.

So what are these Orange Zones? This is where the Blue Zones are marked off in alternatinve blue and orange stripes along the paseo parking areas. The shopping areas, on the othe hand, like outside Mercadona, for example, are just blue lines and are only operational during the mornings.

So, the affected paseos are: Puerta del Mar, Velilla, Playa Tesorillo, Playa El Pozuelo, Avenida Adolfo Suárez (Galera Playa), Plaza de Abderramán, Paseo de Las Flores, Paseo de San Cristóbal, Paseo Rincón de la China and Cotobro, as far as Los Ramos.

You can also include Zone 8, which constitutes Avenida Mar de Plata, Calle Pirámide and Avenida Amelia Sánchez de Alcázar (between Mar de Plata and Calle Pirámide).

As far as La Herradura is concerned, the Orange Zones affect the Paseo Andrés Segovia, from the Mercado Municipal as far as Calle Alhambra/Calle Gonzalo Barbero.

If you have cause to storm off to the offices of the company in charge of the Blue Zones, you’ll find them hiding at Avenida de Europa, Nº 26 (in front of Hotel Carmen). Abusive emails and threatening phone calls can be made to oralmunecar@gmail.com and 610 449 545, respectively.

Editorial comment: our lawyer recommended that we should point out that we are joking, concerning abusive and threatening communications…

We had a comment left on the site regarding this article from Pol, who points out that the email address doesn’t work. Strangely enough, even the Town Hall website displays this email address as well as oralmunecar.com, neither of which appear to work.
