Low-Cost Hospital Parking

The new general hospital in Granada, Parque Tecnológico de la Salud (PTS) has just inaugurated a new parking area.

Parking up there is both difficult to find and expensive when you do eventually find somewhere. For people who have to visit hospitalised friends and relatives or attend weekly, outpatient session, this is a headache.

This low-cost parking area, called Campus Park, with its 190 parking slots within a 5,000 sq/m perimeter, will help towards alleviating the problem. The parking that runs this car park on Avenida del Conocimiento, is Grupo Cariño.

It is low-cost because by comparison with Hospital San Cecilio parking (where it costs 2.34 euros per hour) it’s only 1.69 so it’s certainly cheaper; 65 centimos cheaper, in fact. A full 24 hours parked there will cost you 7.90 euros — in most other public, underground, car parks in the city you’re looking at around 20 euros for a full 24 hours.

The Mayor of Granada of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, had a wander around the car park, accompanied by the Chairman of the parking company, José Manuel Peña García.

Getting the parking sorted out wasn’t easy because a deal had to be found with Endesa to provide electricity for the installations.
