A woman in her mid 60s was injured as a result of being attacked by a dog, last Sunday afternoon.
The 66-year-old woman, was walking her dog past cortijos in Matagallares area, (along the Cota 200 lane) when she was attacked by a black dog, which was wandering around by itself.
Luckily for her, a couple were also out walking and they came to her aid, fighting off the dog with a stick that they had found. As a result, the dog fled leaving the woman more badly shaken than seriously injured.
She was treated at the town Medical Centre for any bites that she may have suffered. On Monday morning she made a written complaint at the Guardia Civil post.
Apparently, several residents have complained about dogs on the loose in the Matagallares area. In the case of this black dog (breed and sized not specified) it had a collar.
Consequently, the Plataforma para la Defensa de la Seguridad within the municipality, advises locals who walk along the Camino Cota 200, to be aware of the situation until Seprona has found the offending dog.
