National Geographic Ship

The cruise ship, National Geographic Explorer, has docked at Motril Port with 133 American, Canadian and Danish passengers onboard, nine years after its first visit.

MOT National Geographic Explorer DocksThis is a research or expedition ship built to be able to sail up near the poles, but in “exceptional comfort,” thanks to its 81 spacious, ensuite cabins with sea views. She was built in 1992 and then went through renovations later on in her life.

National Geographic Explorer carries kayaks and zodiacs with outboards for exploring and a bar, library, spa, gym and sauna for those staying onboard.

The ship had sailed from Cartagena, spending time in the port before leaving midnight, last night, heading for Málaga, on a voyage taking in Spanish, Portuguese and French ports.
