The Plaza Alpujarra in Órgiva was the venue for a charity event called, Estrella por un día, amor para toda la vida, as an awareness event for animal rights.
And what better way to heighten awareness for animal rights than to hold a dog show where owners can show off Man’s best friend.
It was also the occasion to introduce a work group called Volando, which is composed of several groups and individuals in Órgiva, who work to defend the rights of animals.
During the event, there were also lectures or chats on adopting pets, dog handling, sterilising pets and canine behaviour, as well as stray-cat colonies.
There was also a raffle draw with a very original, basket prize. Furthermore, the owners of all the dogs that participated received a small gift.
The said work group, Volando, organised the event together with Nomaypa and the Town Hall. Luz María Puga Blanco, who is the Chairwoman of the Asociación No al maltrato de Animales y Plantas, who is 42, has worked since she was small with abandoned pets.
