Motril Town Hall has decided that it is time to sort out the gravelled road that gives access to parking on Playa Granada, and have levelled it with a front loader.

MOT Removing Potholes on Parking Access LaneThis is fortunate because the said lane looked like the Somme 1916 so this TLC will please many visitors and locals alike.

One of the cluster of Vice Mayors that exist within the Town Council, who also doubles for Councillor for Beaches, José Peña, has praised the effort that his department is making in this area and aims to conclude the levelling work as soon as possible as this parking area is in high demand.

Councillor Peña emphasised that the Town Hall must guarantee that all of the beaches are in optimum condition, adding that as the weather has improved, the number of people visiting the beaches has grown significantly.

Same old. Same old. The road was never perfect. The Summer Belgium Royal casa needed a few updates. Promised but don’t hold your breaths!
The loss of 20 to 26 parking spaces at the end of the car park, was a loss, especially as it took a few years to build the not-so-much-needed surf and kayak school. Plus bar of course! Shame about Bonobo. Nice music. Almost hippy times.
So the road in and out was ok, sort of, but the lorries coming in and out did not help. So why do the local residents have to pay? Charge the cost to the greedy gits that took car parking spaces and a nice bar, or the councillors that maybe their mates,?
