And here we go again with a hill fire barely a week after the most recent one and spring has not even arrived!

The previous hill fire was within the municipality of Otívar area on the 20th of March, which we reported on.

Today’s one is within the municipality of Vélez de Benaudalla, which was declared at 13.05h. At the moment there is one heavy helicopter, water-bomber, two Infoca ground-personnel units and a fire truck.

We will give you more info as it develops, as they will have a tough time with these strong gusting winds.

Any input from residents of Vélez de Benaudalla would be much appreciated.
