An Almuñécar man in his 30s is under investigation by the Guardia Civil, suspected of damaging parked cars on the night of Christmas Eve.

The owners of the cars, which had been parked on Avenida Juan Carlos I, reported that their vehicles had been vandalised to the Almuñécar post of the Guardia Civil

The damage wrought is calculated at several thousand euros: officers inspected the cars and found that their doors had been dented and the locks forced, as well as their rear-view mirrors smashed and bodywork mouldings ripped off on all three vehicles.

The Guardia Civil interviewed witnesses who claim that they saw the 38-year-old man in a state of drunkenness hitting the cars. Their statements have been corroborated by CCTV images from nearby establishments.
