The teenage sons of a woman found dead have been arrested in connection with her murder.

The woman’s body was found around nine in the evening of yesterday in front of her garage in the town of Castro Urdiales in Cantabria.

The police suspect that one of the two boys is responsible for her death. His brother cannot be held criminally responsible because he is under 14 years old.

The body of the 48-year-old victim was bound and gagged and found within her car, which was parked on Calle Monte Cerredo in front of her garage entrance. The two boys were not at home so a large search operation was put into motion to find them.

This morning, the Central Government Delegate for Cantabria, Eugenia Gómez de Diego, confirmed that the boys had been located yesterday night and that the oldest is formerly arrested whilst the younger one is being held in custody by the Guardia Civil, awaiting a decision from the Minors Court.
