Pedestrian Hit by Car in Town Centre

A second pedestrian was knocked over this month in the Province of Málaga, this time this morning in Vélez-Málaga.

AXA Female Pedestrian Knocked Down by Female DriverThe accident took place around 10.05h near a square in the centre of town, the Plaza Las Indias.

For reasons unknown, the 78-year-old, female driver, P.G.S., lost control of her Citroen C3, hit several recycling bins. It is thought that she had fainted at the wheel.

The car accelerated and hit the wall of a building where it came to rest. However, one of the bins that she hit, the car dragged along with it and it was the bin that actually impacted against the pedestrian, 58-year-old M.C.G.F.

The pedestrian suffered head injuries, both from the bin and then from falling to the pavement.

Both women were attended to by paramedics at the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía.
