The Guardia Civil at Motril Port seized over 100 kilos of hashish, hidden behind a false wall in a lorry trailer.
The driver, a 37-year-old Moroccan citizen who had just disembarkd from the Volcán de Tauce ferry from Tangier, was immediately arrested, accused of drugs trafficking.
This discovery took place around 11:30h on November the 26th, during an inspection carried out by Guardia Civil, Customs officers.
The officers had decided to take the lorry to the Phytosanitary Inspection Point within the port to do a more exhaustive examination. They emptied the cargo of tomatoes it was transporting and took a look behind what they suspected to be a false wall and discovered 185 packages with 1,101 hashish-pollen pills.
The detainee was held in custody and the drugs and the seized truck have been impounded.
