Two paraglider enthusiasts were seriously injured when they collided in midair on Wednesday.
The accident occurred in the municipality of Teba (Antequera, Málaga Province) on the 15th. Both victims had taken off from the hill called Cerro de San Cristóbal shortly before colliding.
The emergency centre received a call around 16.35h from eyewitnesses and immediately despatched the nearest fire service and a 061 ambulance, as well as the Guardia Civil, Policía Local and the Protección Civil in Teba.
Both pilots were injured, one of whom was evacuated by helicopter to a medical centre because of the injuries sustained.

I have this information from a paragliding instructor ho wrote on a paragliding group where I’m part of but not sure this person is your relative: “Nick is still in induced coma. Pressumable till the swelling gets better.”

The person involved is a member of my family & we are devastated. What is hard is not knowing exactly what happened so if there’s anyone who knows anything about this accident it would be a little better in dealing with our aftermath. Thank you
My brother was there at the time and his paragliding class tutor told the group to disperse from a ridge as it was getting too crowded, many of whom would be beginners rather than experience pilots
For more than a few minutes of pleasure, a lifetime of pain can follow. Injuries in this case for some marriage and children. Or a few minutes of great joy?
