Bye Bye Bonobo

The management of Chiringuito Bonobo on Playa Granada in Motril, has packed it up and taken it away. But it will be back!

The chiringuito in question is a modular unit and the norms that govern this kind of structure on beaches last for four years, then it has to be renewed. In order for the licence to be reissued the lease holders have to demonstrate that the structure can be dismantled and removed, leaving the beach vacant where it stood.

This modular chiringuito has been around for eight years and is quite popular, so this is the second time that it has had to go through this procedure.

The owner, José Antonio, explained that the licence had really expired on the 23rd of May so instead of actually renewing the existing licence, he is applying for a completely new one so that he can reopen in time for summer.

Nothing to do with the two new establishments. That have occupied the 30 ex car parking spaces. What are they kayak and windsurfing , much needed schools?? Do they have a alcohol license and serve coffees and tea. Just asking ?
