A British criminal on the run since 2020 was arrested by the Guardia Civil in Jávea (Alicante).

He is wanted in the UK over drug-running, money-laundering charges, as well as belonging to a criminal organisation.

The Unidad Central Operativa (UCO) belonging to the Guardia Civil received information from the British NCA (National Crime Agency) that led to tracking the fugitive down and arresting him.

NCA officers were present, as well as officers from the Metropolitan Police, when the Spanish police searched the dwelling where the man had been staying.

Arrests, fruit of cooperation with other national policial agencies led to 191 arrests in Spain during 2022 alone, as well as 11,725 arrests related to crimes carried out in Spain.
