Tried Burning Alive his Wife

Officers from the Policía Nacional in Estepona arrested a man who allegedly tried to murder his wife and daughter when he set light to their home.

AND Estepona National Police StationA magistrate has ordered that the 37-year-old suspect be held in remand pending trial.

The man allegedly poured gasoline over his wife and daughter, who is a minor, before sprinkling the rest of the dwelling, when he learnt that she intended to leave him – they had been together for two years. He then set the flat alight,

Fortunately, the two victims managed to get out before the flames reached them. Outside they were aided by neighbours until the police arrived, who had received a call on 091.

A police patrol soon located and arrested the man whilst the fire service put out the fire before it spread to other dwellings.

The victims were taken to a medical centre for a check up before being taken to the police station so that an official denuncia could be made.

They were then taken to a shelter for victims of gender violence. As for the aggressor, he has a criminal record that includes acts of gender violence.

    He should be locked up permanently as he is a danger to women and girls.
