This discovery was part of Operation Miller and took place on the 5th of last month.
When the helicopter flew over, two people reportedly ran out of the cortijo and started optimistically cutting down the 900-odd marijuana plants.
The pilot radioed in the find and a couple of Guardia Civil patrols were despatched to the cortijo. When they arrived, they identified the occupant of the cortijo and searched the property.
They found forty-six, large, cannabis-sativa plants already in flower and another nine hundred and thirty smaller plants that had not yet flowered.
In this operation, a twenty-nine-year-old woman, with no police record, will face charges against public health for illegal drug cultivation.
Operation Miller is a nationwide, Civil Guard operation against the illegal cultivation and trafficking of marijuana.
