Firefighters were out last night tackling a fire in the Sacromonte area of the city of Granada.
Both the municipal fire service and Infoca deployed units to combat the flames near the car park next to the Abadía (Abbey) de Sacromonte. From there it spread down hill through the area known as Siete Cuestas.
The city of Granada had to deploy personnel and vehicles from both of its fire stations (Norte & Sur) to back up the Infoca personnel and fire engine (truck).
Thanks to this large deployment the fire was kept under control that was so near this religious building and its wooded surrounds.

They earn the keep in the spring, summer and autumn months. Really should be a national service, like the Guardia, then training and salaries can be universal.
