Jet-Ski Protest Went Well

The Sunday-morning protest on La Herradura beach against the nuisance caused by jet-ski users saw a good turn out although not so many as at the previous one.

LHR Jetski Protest 30JL23People who supported the protest were there on the beach, as well as on the water in kayaks, etc, and as announced, the ecologist yacht also anchored off the beach to support the protest.

Regular beachgoers expressed their support and encouragement before the protesters moved off towards the centre of the bay.

Without a shadow of doubt, jet-ski users who make a habit of coming too close to the beach or swimmers in the water have brought this adamant rejection upon themselves, which will end in strict countermeasures.

It is a pity for responsible users, but those that treat the bay as a race track are equally a nuisance and a danger as bike riders who perform wheelers and hold races on our streets.

One final point, it is perhaps a demonstration of a lack of awareness on the part of the Town Hall to the growing discontent that the old, open-air cinema was allowed to be converted into a storage area for jet-skis, it seems.
