This summer in La Herradura you will be able to see a film every Tuesday up to the 29th of August.

LHR Summer Cinema August 23The Municipality of Almuñécar/La Herradura used to have half a dozen, open-air cinemas, which were as much part of summer as the beach itself. Sadly, most have disappeared, which is why in La Herradura open-air cinema will be held on the Plaza de La Independencia.

Tomorrow, the 18th will be the first one and will be screened at 22.00h and the film chosen is Night in the Museum. Obviously, admittance is free.

This is part of the Town Hall’s drive to provide family entertainment – previously there had been a treat for young kids in the form of puppet theatre on the same square.

Obviously, it’s first come; first served, as far as seating goes because seats are limited. However, if somebody wants to take their own chair along, there is nothing to stop them.

It will be an opportunity to practice your Spanish, though, as they will be in that language, for obvious reasons, even if the original version was in English. Here follows a list:

18/07: Night in the Museum
25/07: Mary Poppins
01/08: Back to The Future
08/08: Hook
22/08: Grease
29/08: Jumanji

Note: Tuesday the 15th of August is the day of the Firework display, so there will be no film, obviously.
