Controversial Chairman Targeted

The family of Luis Rubiales, Chairman of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), suffered a break in at their Motril property on Thursday.

SAL Luis RubialesOur reporter, Sam Rucker, you might remember, ran an article on Mr Rubiales back in January, entitled Scandal Strikes Salobreña, dealing with a rented luxury villa on the Monte de Los Almendros.

The break in on Thursday around noon on Calle Ancha caused a lot of damage but nothing of any value was taken, which doesn’t sound like a standard burglary. Fortunately, nobody was occupying the dwelling at the time of the break in.

National news outlets have linked this incident to a decision handed down by a Motril law court that confirmed the sacking of Juan Rubiales, who is the brother of the ex-mayor of Motril, Luis Rubiales, thus uncle of the Luis Rubiales, subject of this article. Qué lio!

Anyway, please read the linked article to have a better idea of who is who.
