A baby, just over a year old, fell from a second-floor window on Saturday afternoon in Valladolid.

The accident took place around 14.45h on Calle Juan de Valladolid in the city of that same name. The emergency services were alerted and an ambulance raced the child to the Hospital Río Hortega in Valladolid

Little has been made known about how this came to happen, nor in what medical condition the 13-month baby finds itself.

Surprisingly, this sort of accident has occurred several times before. For example, in February a 15-month old baby fell from a 3rd floor window in Alcira (Valencia). Further back, in October, 2022 the life of a 3-year-old toddler was saved by an awning after falling from a 2nd-floor balcony in Zaragoza. The child suffered a fractured arm and bruising but little more.

Going back even further to over three years ago, in February 2020, but closer to home, an 18-month-old toddler was seriously injured after falling from a kitchen window on the second floor of a block of flats in Granada. The child was immediately placed in the ICU with head injuries. There was no follow up in the news on how the child eventually fared.

And finally in March 2019 in Zaragoza again, an 18-month old toddler fell from a 5th-floor window and died after six days in the ICU.
