Motril Town Hall announced that since the 5th and lasting until the 11th of this month the DGT will be checking vehicles for ITV defects.
In other words, they will be carrying out spot checks on vehicles for defects concerning tyres, headlights and brake lights and even steering, as well as having a valid ITV sticker on display.
As the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) explained, a vehicle with problems in its brake & suspension systems, or tyre and indicators, has a greater propensisty to cause or be involved in a road accident.
The DGT added that the risk of death or serious injuries is double in cars ten and 15 years old, according to road-accident statistics from 2019, in relation to vehicles of only 5-years old or less.
