A 50-year-old man died yesterday night when out diving off La Herradura beach.

The incident was called in around 22.00h by those that were accompanying the victim, diving off Playa de Los Berengueles. After pulling him from the water they phoned for medical assistance.

Unfortunately, when the paramedics arrived the victim was already dead. Also at the scene were the Guardia Civil and Policía Local.

The cause of his death is not known; whether it was a technical problem with his breathing apparatus or from a sudden medical condition. An autopsy, however, will determine the cause of death.
