A section of Calle Guadix in Almuñécar will have roadwork traffic lights installed, starting Monday, the 6th of March.
“Temporary, traffic lights will be set up so that traffic can feed along one single lane,” explained the Head of Public Works, whilst pointing out this will affect Hotel Noy.
The affected section of Calle Guadix measures 120 metres which will advance northwards as work on the pavement and road progresses along the street.
Moving on to work being carried out on Calle Mariana Pineda, on the 6th this street will be closed so that tarmacking work can go ahead between Calle Tetuán (the one that runs past the football stadium) as far as the Avenida Juan Carlos junction. If all goes according to plan, the street will be completed during Friday the 10th.
Furthermore, the Otivar Road between Carrera de La Concepción (fountain & sod-off flag roundabout) and the N-340 flyover will have tarmacking work carried out on Tuesday the 7th & Wednesday the 8th.
Editorial comment: all of this work could have been spaced out over the last couple of years but instead of the Town Hall’s racing to get as much as possible done to coincide with the municipal elections.
