That's what you can expect if you go up to the Sierra Nevada ski resort this Day-of-Andalucía bank holiday.
They’ve got 62 kilometres of skiable snow and 18 of the 21 ski chairs are available. Mind you, you had better wrap up warmly because the temperatures early yesterday morning was ten degrees below zero in Borreguiles and minus five in the ski-resort village of Pradollano.
The snow is powdery and lies between 20 and 100 centimetres thick, but on the other hand visibility is limited because of the clouds in three areas up there: Veleta, Borreguiles and Pradollano.
The company that runs the ski station, Centursa Sierra Nevada says that Emile Allais and Alhambra ski chairs transported 15,282 people a day on average during January, which is 64% more than the previous year.
This weekend there are also sporting events up there; yesterday was the V Trofeo White Camps and today is the II Trofeo Global Racing, as well as thel Trofeo Jesús Serra-Copa de España Inclusiva U8 U10 Y U12 and the Máster 2ª Fase Copa Andalucía.
