By Tuesday work will have begun down in the crater left by the demolished Mercado Municipal to start laying concrete foundations.
This cement-pouring and laying work will cover 1,400 sq/m which correspond to the floor of the lower level of the two-storey parking beneath what will be the market itself. Once it begins, work can’t stop until it is completed.
The Councillor for Urban Development, Javier García, said, “for this reason, we have let residents in the area know that during Tuesday and Wednesday nights construction work will carry on through to dawn.”
The Mayor of Almuñécar, Juan José Ruiz Joya apologies for the inconveniences caused and asks local residents for their understanding.
Editorial comment: whilst they’re at it, they can completely fill in the Aquarium for all its worth…
